We’re hiring! Project Administrator (Ake Projects Team)

Whakatāne-based | 30 hours/week | Flexible with whānau life

Love organising things (and people)? Forward thinking and passionate about Māori success? If this sounds like you — we’d love to meet you.

About the Role

Ake is on the lookout for a Project Administrator to join our Projects Team - a close-knit, passionate crew that supports Māori land trusts, incorporations, and entities to grow and develop their whenua for the benefit of their shareholders and future mokopuna.

This role is ideal for someone who is:

  • Organised (and can help organise others)

  • A step ahead, with initiative to match

  • Passionate about Māori success in our way - on our whenua, in our reo, through our tikanga

  • Keen to be part of a team that works hard, moves fast, laughs often, and gets results for our clients

What You’ll Do

You’ll be the central hub of our project delivery, helping everything run smoothly behind the scenes and out front. You’ll:

  • Coordinate meetings, calendars, travel, and timelines

  • Keep project documents tidy and up to date

  • Help prepare reports, presentations, and client packs

  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders to keep everyone in the loop

  • Bring order and calm to busy schedules and shifting priorities

  • Support our Project Lead to keep momentum and deliver outcomes for Māori entities

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for a doer, thinker, and team player who shares our kaupapa and lives into our Ake values. Ideally you’ll have:

  • Experience in admin, project coordination or similar

  • Awesome organisation and time management skills

  • The ability to communicate clearly and respectfully

  • Confidence with tools like Microsoft 365 and Project Management tools, or be a super quick learner

  • A natural instinct for anticipating needs and getting things done

  • A deep interest in Māori economic development

  • A real commitment to Māori success and whānau-centred development

  • A love of mahi that matters - and maybe a bit of a thing for kai and kōrero too

💛 Why Ake?

At Ake, our kaupapa is guided by our whakataukī:
“Te Whakaoho i te Pito Mata – Unlocking Potential.”
