What is Strategic Planning?

Strategic Planning is a tool designed to achieve the collective vision for your whānau, Trust or organisation. The process asks us to deeply consider our aspirations, and what pathways will achieve this.

Strategic Planning generally focuses on a 3 - 5 year timeframe, but this can also be dependent on the nature of your goals. 

What to expect from your Strategic Planning Wānanga:

Over a 2 day wānanga, we’ll facilitate robust, meaningful discussion about your future as we progress through the elements of a strategic plan. We will act as a guide, but also be there to challenge you to dig deeper into your ideas, act as a sounding board, and provide a valuable outside view.

At the conclusion, you will have a concise, actionable strategic plan that management or whānau can use to guide decision making, investment and planning.

We respect that each client is different. We’ll work with you to gain a strong understanding of what has come before, and ensure your wānanga achieves the outcomes you want.

During the wānanga we will:

  • Develop a clear vision and mission grounded in tikanga Māori.

  • Define and agree the short term and long term goals you wish to achieve.

  • Discuss options, opportunities and challenges.

  • Build a strategic direction and actionable plan that aligns with the vision and values of whānau.

  • Develop a process for sharing the plan with whānau.

Expected Outcomes from your Wānanga:

  • A practical and actionable strategic plan with responsibilities, timelines, and resource allocation..

  • Agreement and alignment on the key projects to be completed over the next 3-5 years.

  • Increased whānau engagement through clarity of purpose.

  • Strengthened governance, financial sustainability, and long-term resilience.
